What is chiropractic care?

At AJ Chiropractic, we help your body move and feel better. Chiropractic care focuses on muscles, joints, and the spine—using hands-on techniques to ease pain and improve mobility.

What can you help with?
  • Back and neck pain
  • Headaches and migraines
  • Sciatica
  • Joint pain (shoulders, hips, knees)
  • Muscle stiffness
  • Postural issues (especially from desk work)
What happens at my first appointment?
  • A chat about your symptoms and health history
  • A physical assessment
  • Posture and movement checks
  • A clear explanation of what’s going on
  • If suitable, treatment may start on the same day.
Is treatment safe?

Yes—chiropractic care is very safe when carried out by a trained professional. Everything is tailored to your comfort and needs.

Will it hurt?

Most treatments feel relieving rather than painful. You might feel pressure or hear a “click” (completely normal). Some mild soreness afterwards can happen.

How many sessions will I need?

This depends on your condition. Some people feel better quickly, while others need a longer plan. We’ll always explain what we recommend.

Do I need a GP referral?

No—you can book directly with AJ Chiropractic. If needed, we’ll guide you to your GP or another specialist.

What should I wear?

Comfortable clothing you can move in—like gym wear or loose-fitting clothes.

Is it suitable for all ages?

Yes—treatment is adapted for everyone, from children to older adults.

Do you accept insurance?

Some UK private health insurers cover chiropractic care. Check with your provider to confirm your cover.

What’s the cracking sound?

It’s just gas being released from the joint—completely normal and harmless.
